Omar's Mediterranean East is a hidden gem in NYC. Simply the best chicken shawarma in NYC, the spices are done to perfection, sides are delicious and their sauces like garlic, tahini and spicy are amazing. The pitas are the best I have ever tasted. Galal, restaurant manager, is the nicest guy and makes you feel like you're at home every time you are there. Best platter meal at $20 price point in the City, try it and see!

A co-worker recommended this place after I said I liked Trader's Joe falafels. I have been back for lunch 3 times. The falafel platter and falafel pita sandwiches are delicious. The humus and tahini sauce full of flavor. I would give a 5 rating if I ever had the opportunity to sit down and dine. There's always a line down the block. Very popular place. The staff is friendly and polite. The prices are reasonable for midtown. Great place!

So much flavor in every bite and the service was impeccable. The food was fresh and tasted delicious! What really impressed my friends and I the most was the level of service. Isidro, who goes by, "Chile." Made us feel like we were having a family dinner at home. So much warmth, attention to detail, and went far and beyond to make our party feel welcomed! I can't recommend enough!

This is our first time trying Omar's, so of course was a bit "nervous" about it, but no need!! The food was really great! I had the lamb Adana on pita, and oh wow, it didn't disappoint at all! The combination of the meat, with the lettuce, tomatoes and the sauce, was just "finger licking good," definitely will try it again! We order online, so didn't truly interact with the employees, but a lady came to my rescue when I wasn't sure which one was my order lol. Must say, the order was ready way before I came to pick it up. When I arrived to pick my food got a scare, I mean, the line was outside the place, and we large parties! So that got me "scared" for a minute It has seating place, and looked nice and clean Enjoy coming to Omar's, hope you have as great as an experience as I did!

Yum! Love the fresh flavors! Depending on who serves your to-go, your portions will vary. We got a guy who wasn't so generous, but still decent portion. Chicken Shawarma was on the saltier side. The pita helped balance that out a bit, but still salty.

Amazing food! Ordered the chicken Adana on pita with extra garlic sauce. Their garlic sauce is unreal. Definitely a place that I'm going to frequently visit. Really tasty flavored food not super oily and don't feel food guilt after eating it all, unlike a lot of the other places I love.

Ambiance (4/5): The back dining area is well lit and quiet! There's plenty of seating and was pretty busy on a weekend lunch hour. Service (2/5): The front part of the restaurant is a fast plate ordering to go. There was about 3 staff members working both stations so it was difficult to get service in the back dining area. Omar Signiture Dish (5/5): Everything on the platter was delicious! The lamb kabob was my favorite and the chicken was incredibly juicy. The protein is seasoned wonderfully with pronounced spices. The seasoned rice complemented well w the meats. The portion was enough for 1.5 persons. The table has bottles of yogurt sauce and hot sauce. Both were delicious complements to the dish but the flavors didn't need it! Sharing plates incurs an extra $5 fee. Groups with 5 or more has an included 20% tip.

I ordered Soup of the Day it was chicken soup There were real pieces of chicken and noodles, but it was bit over salted . Second dish was Chicken Shawarma Quality of the chicken itself is good. Tomato in the shawarma was unrip. Place is overpriced. The atm terminal was not working.

Nice small dining room in the back of the restaurant. Good service. We went early (5:30pm) on a Monday. It wasn't busy. I got the chicken schwarma plate with eggplant salad and rice. My husband got Kaufta Kabob with fries and hummus. A basket of pita was also served to the table. Chicken schwarma was very tasty - lots of spice and nice and moist. Rice was good and eggplant salad was ok. My husband loved his Kaufta kabob - said it was the best he has had in NY/NJ so far! Fries were also excellent and hummus was spot on. It was also the owner/managers Birthday and staff brought out a nice mango cake and even gave customers small piece which was really nice ( and good!). Also, the service was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back!

I ordered takeout from here because I work close by, so while I can't comment about service or ambience, I can assure you that the food is great! I got the chicken shawarma platter, which came with a solid amount of flavourful chicken and a choice of some sides. I opted for the Baba Ghanoush and Tabouli. Both were great, but I particularly enjoyed the Baba Gnanoush which was smokey but not overpoweringly so. The pita is also amazing - it's thick and fluffy, just the perfect complement to everything else in the meal. I'd definitely order an extra portion of this next time. Overall, this is definitely going to become one of my go-to post-work takeout spots in Midtown! I'd definitely say it's worth a try, especially for the portion sizes you get for the price.
